Obituary: E. Keith Chambers, Sr.
Chambers E. Keith Chambers Sr., age 86, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away on June 9, 2014. Keith was born in Dry Fork, WV on March 9, 1928 to the late Bernard and Bessie (Miller) Chambers. Keith graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, WV and entered the US Signal Corp. After the military he graduated from West Virginia Institute of Technology. Keith started his career as an Electrical Engineer with Appalachian Power Co. transferring to the American Electric Power company in Canton, OH and Groveport, OH. He retired in 1992 after 41 years of service. Keith is a member of the Church of the Redeemer UMC, Bluefield Masonic Lodge #85 F&AM, Bluefield #66 OES, active in the Amateur Radio Operators handle W8VAN, Editor of the Masonic Amateur Newspaper “Hiram’s Hams”, and Past President of QCWA Radio – Canton, OH. Keith was very proud of his son and daughter-in-law’s music careers. He loved to travel to see them perform. Survived by his loving wife, Mary Ruth Chambers; son, Dr. E. Keith Chambers, Jr. and his wife, Kirsten; sister, Elnora (Lawrence) Smith; other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday with a 7 p.m. Masonic Service at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 East Livingston Ave. where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 with Celebrant Mark Dettmer.
